FAQ

That is okay! We are just glad you are here and a part of this community. Feel free to browse through the forums and read others stories. Show your support, thank them for sharing. Look out for upcoming events & new merch.

  • Why should I add my story here?
Oftentimes we see people on TikTok or Instagram adding vulnerable stories to their page. We see in the comments that so many people can either relate or are moved in some way by their story. But what social media lacks is safety. We often see negativity, hurtful comments, people attacking others and a lack of empathy for a persons vulnerability. Sharing your story has the potential to help someone else feel less alone. Our stories are powerful because they envoke compassion even among strangers. We also create opportunities to understand others better and cultivate empathy towards them. Stories appeal to our senses and our emotions, not only drawing our attention to the feelings but also leaving an impact on others. You never know who your story might save.
  • Why is there a song on the homepage?
Superbloom by MisterWives was a song shown to me in my first semester of nursing school. One of my fellow classmates share this song with us during a spiritual share. She said this song had helped her get through some tough times. Ever since that day, when I'm feeling down or sad, I'll play that song to lift my mood and remind me that "I deserve Congratulations"! So I wanted to share that song here to help continue to lift us women up and remind us to Superbloom.
  • What kind of story do I add?
That is up to you. You could talk about a memory, something that you are currently going through, thoughts on seeing or being a part of what someone else is going through. You could write a one line sentence, draw a picture, write a paragraph, or a whole story. You can write your story, what ever that may be, leave it here and never come back to it. Or you can conversate with others about your story. We are just glad to have you as a part of this community.
  • What is the goal for storiesRISE?
My #1 goal is to create a community that offers a safe space for women to share their stories. Free from judgement, opinions and negative comments. I'm also in the works of creating a podcast and working with other women on wellness events! So stay tuned!
  • Things I am not....
A therapist - My scope of practice is not therapy. I won't pretend to be a therapist or know all the answers to the many challenges or experiences that are shared on this page. My hope is to use this platform and my connections to resources as a nurse to link people to the people who can help navigate through these experiences. Someone who doesn't experience pain. I feel like the momentum of storiesRISE came from the understanding of what it is to have a story to share and sometimes no one to tell it to. Fearless. Sharing stories or experiences IS a vulnerable thing to do. To let people in or to be completely honest can be hard. That's why I created the option to share your story anonymously. Hopefully creating that option gives you the permission to let your truth be shared, even when you aren't ready to do it personally.
